Eminem is set to embrace a new chapter in his life as he prepares to become a grandfather. The rapper made the announcement through a music video for his song “Temporary,” featuring Skylar Grey, which was released on Thursday.
In a touching moment from the video, his daughter Hailie Jade, 28, who is also a musician and podcaster, gifts her father a blue shirt with “Grandpa” printed on the back. Eminem appears surprised as he holds a sonogram picture, while Jade enjoys the moment with laughter.
The music video features a nostalgic montage of childhood clips of Jade and Eminem, along with highlights from her recent wedding to Evan McClintock. Eminem dedicates the song to Hailie, with lyrics reflecting on the circle of life: “So Hailie Jade, I wrote this song to help you cope with life when I’m gone.”
Following the video’s release, Jade shared a series of photos on her Instagram, showcasing her and McClintock looking at the sonogram, announcing that their baby is expected next year. The couple has been together since 2016 and got engaged in February 2023, tying the knot in May.
“Being a wife this week feels amazing,” Jade shared on Instagram, expressing her joy over their wedding celebration filled with love and emotions. This will be the couple’s first child.
