Season 4 of “Emily in Paris” has taken viewers on an exciting journey through Europe, showcasing Emily Cooper’s experiences from the French Alps to the enchanting streets of Rome. Despite the change of scenery, series creator Darren Star has confirmed that Emily is not permanently relocating to Rome. In a recent interview, Star stated, “We’ll spend some time in Rome. But she did not change her Instagram handle to Emily in Rome,” emphasizing that Emily will continue to divide her time between both cities.
Star mentioned that if there’s a season five, fans can expect to see more of Emily in Rome. He explained that the story is currently guiding them to Italy without abandoning Paris. This season also introduced a new love interest for Emily, Marcello Muratori, who opens up new opportunities for her amidst the ongoing tension with Gabriel, who is determined to win her back.
In addition to the romantic drama, Season 4 featured significant plot twists, including Camille’s unexpected pregnancy announcement and later decision to adopt, along with Mindy’s journey to Shanghai to judge a talent competition. The season also included a special cameo from France’s First Lady, Brigitte Macron.
While the future of “Emily in Paris” remains uncertain, Netflix has not confirmed season five yet. However, an auction at the Cannes Film Festival raised excitement as a walk-on role for the next season was sold for approximately $277,000, with shooting anticipated to begin in mid-2025.
With no official release date for season five, fans can reflect on the past seasons, which have generally premiered in the latter part of the year. The main cast, including Lily Collins, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Ashley Park, and others, are likely to return if the series continues.
For now, viewers can continue to enjoy the adventures of Emily and her friends on Netflix while awaiting further announcements regarding the show’s future.
