Season 4 spoilers are here.

Emily Cooper’s latest season took viewers on an exciting journey through Europe, covering locations from the French Alps to the charming streets of Rome. As Lily Collins remarks, “No one loves a holiday like Emily Cooper.”

However, fans may wonder if Emily is making a permanent move to Rome. The answer is no. Series creator Darren Star clarified in an interview that while Emily will spend time in Rome, she is not leaving Paris behind. “We’ll spend some time in Rome. But she did not change her Instagram handle to Emily in Rome,” he stated. “She can spend time in Rome, she can spend time in Paris, too. She’s not leaving Paris.”

Star also hinted to Glamour that there could be more of Emily’s adventures in Rome if there is a fifth season. “Emily is now there. There’s an office, and I think the story is taking us there for the moment,” he explained. “We will spend more time in Italy, but it doesn’t mean we’re leaving Paris.”

In Season 4, Emily’s new romantic interest, Marcello Muratori, was introduced as a way for her to start anew after the turmoil with Gabriel. “I wanted to create a new love interest for Emily that would feel like a fresh start,” Star noted. But viewers may not want to count out Gabriel, who is seen heading to Rome to win Emily back.

The season also featured significant plot twists, such as Camille’s pregnancy storyline turning into an adoption decision, along with Mindy heading to Shanghai to judge “Chinese Popstar.” Remarkably, this season included a cameo by France’s First Lady, Brigitte Macron.

As for the future of “Emily in Paris,” there is no official word from Netflix regarding a fifth season. A representative for the streaming giant confirmed that there are no updates available. Nevertheless, during the Cannes Film Festival, a walk-on role for the next season was auctioned off, with reports suggesting that filming could begin in mid-2025.

Currently, no release date for Season 5 has been announced as Netflix has yet to confirm a new season. Previous seasons released in October 2020, December 2021, December 2022, and August 2024, with the fourth season’s second part dropping in September 2024.

While cast details for a potential fifth season are not confirmed, it’s likely that the main cast will return, including Lily Collins as Emily Cooper, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu as Sylvie Grateau, and Lucas Bravo as Gabriel, among others.

For those looking to stream “Emily in Paris,” it is available on Netflix.
