Elton John recently shared that due to an eye infection, he has been unable to see the musical adaptation of The Devil Wears Prada, for which he composed the score. Speaking at the show’s opening night in London, John expressed his disappointment, saying, “I haven’t been able to come to many of the previews because I’ve lost my eyesight, so it’s hard for me to see it. But I love to hear it, and boy, it sounded good tonight.”

In a September update on social media, John revealed that the eye infection he has been battling since the summer has resulted in limited vision in one eye. He acknowledged that the healing process is progressing slowly and will take time before he regains full sight in the affected eye. Despite the challenges, he remains optimistic about his recovery, stating he feels good about his progress.

Elton John has encountered various health issues in recent years, particularly during his “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” tour, which was widely regarded as his final concert series. Unfortunately, these health concerns led to several concerts being rescheduled or shortened.

Notably, John recently became an EGOT winner after receiving an Emmy Award in January, joining a prestigious group of artists who have won an Emmy, Grammy, Academy Award, and Tony Award.

As John continues to navigate his health challenges, his resilience stands out, and his passion for music remains undiminished. This underscores the importance of pursuing one’s dreams and passions, even in the face of adversity.

In summary, while Elton John’s eyesight may be limited for now, his love for music and commitment to creativity shine through, serving as an inspiration to many.
