EL PASO, Texas – The El Paso International Airport (ELP) has announced an increase in long-term parking rates, set to take effect on March 1, 2026. The daily parking fee will rise from $7.00 to $9.00, a change that was approved by the El Paso City Council as part of the airport’s fiscal year 2026 budget.

Originally scheduled for implementation on September 1, 2025, officials decided to postpone the rate hike to alleviate potential strains on the community during ongoing construction of the Short-Term Solar Covered Parking project and the busy end-of-year holiday travel season.

Tony Nevarez, the Airport Director, emphasized the airport’s commitment to providing a quality experience for travelers, stating, “This rate adjustment supports continued investment in airport infrastructure and services, ensuring we can meet the growing needs of our region.”

The revised pricing aims to reflect increasing operational costs, allowing ELP to reinvest in its parking facilities. This investment is intended to enhance key areas such as safety, reliability, and the overall passenger experience, all without drawing from local taxpayer funds or the City’s general fund.

As the airport prepares for this change, it underscores a focus not only on improving facilities but also on adapting to the needs of a growing community. The hope is that these adjustments will lead to a more efficient and user-friendly travel experience for all passengers.
