In his debut season with the Bettor’s Guide, Post sports gambling editor Matt Ehalt shares his predictions for upcoming NFL matchups.
He favors the Pittsburgh Steelers to win against the Indianapolis Colts, giving Pittsburgh a -1.5 point spread. Although Ehalt initially expected the Steelers to cover against the Los Angeles Chargers last week, he switched to the Buccaneers covering against the Broncos, a decision that did not pan out. He notes that the Colts have been struggling, with their recent home win over the Bears not inspiring much confidence, particularly after quarterback Anthony Richardson’s poor performance. Ehalt highlights the difficulty Richardson will face against a Steelers defense that leads the league in fewest yards allowed per game, predicting a close win for Pittsburgh.
Ehalt also backs the Washington Commanders as +3.5 point underdogs against the Arizona Cardinals. He believes that if Marvin Harrison Jr. is healthy, he could have a standout game, as many top receivers have had success against the Commanders this season. However, Ehalt points out that the Cardinals’ defense may struggle to contain Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels, who has been on a scoring streak. He sees potential for an upset but favors Washington to keep the game close, noting that the Cardinals could be without tight end Trey McBride due to a concussion.
Last week, Ehalt’s betting record was 1-1, and his season record stands at 1-5.
