After two and a half years in operation at the Murphy Arts Center in Fountain Square, Easy Rider Diner will serve its final breakfast on May 24 before transitioning to bar service exclusively. The diner, which opened in October 2022 and garnered attention for its American Southwest-inspired menu, announced the closure through a Facebook post on May 16.
This change comes as preparations begin for a new indoor music venue set to open by early 2026, which will house the temporary outdoor HI-FI Annex. The Easy Rider Diner was known for its blend of classic brunch dishes, Southwest flavors, and Americana comfort food, all set within a vibrant atmosphere decorated with pop art and Old West themes.
While the diner will be closing as a restaurant, the Snack Shack concession at the HI-FI Annex will remain operational, alongside the Easy Rider bar, which will continue to enhance the HI-FI experience within the arts center.
In their farewell announcement, the owners expressed pride in what they created and gratitude to the community and patrons, stating, “We’re proud of what we built—from unforgettable meals to meaningful moments with our community.”
This change marks an evolution rather than an end, as the focus shifts towards expanding the bar service and enhancing the overall HI-FI experience.
With new developments on the horizon, the local community has much to look forward to as the arts and dining scene continues to evolve in Fountain Square.
