The Prince of Wales will attend the event in Rio de Janeiro on November 5, shortly before engaging in the COP30 climate change summit in Belem.

Founded by Prince William, the Earthshot Prize honors pioneering ideas aimed at “repairing” the planet. Each of the five winning finalists will be granted £1 million (approximately $2.1 million AUD) to advance their impactful projects. The finalists for 2025 were recently unveiled, reflecting a strong commitment to advancing global environmental initiatives. To raise awareness for the event, actor Matthew McConaughey has also lent his voice to the awards trailer, titled “Meet the World’s True Action Heroes,” which features the 15 finalists and their groundbreaking solutions.
The evening will be hosted by Brazilian broadcaster Luciano Huck and will include presentations by notable figures such as former soccer player Cafu and four-time Formula One champion Sebastian Vettel. Adding an important perspective, Txai Surui, a fierce advocate for Brazil’s Indigenous communities, will also take the stage, ensuring that diverse voices are highlighted during the proceedings.
