Earrings or Eavesdropping? The Debate Surrounding Icebach’s Nova H1

The company behind Nova H1 audio earrings is capitalizing on a conspiracy theory that Vice President Kamala Harris received debate questions through their product. After a recent debate, Icebach CEO Malte Iversen linked to an article on LinkedIn that suggested Harris used these earrings, stating, “We can neither confirm nor deny.” Although he later deleted the post, Icebach appears to be embracing the speculation to promote their audio earrings.

On their website, Icebach has introduced a new “Special Edition for Presidential Debates” and announced plans for an exclusive live interview with comedian Jimmy Fallon to address the swirling rumors. The company requests that only Fallon reach out for interviews.

The Nova H1 audio earrings are designed to be the first wireless earphones integrated into earrings, crafted from freshwater pearls for a unique aesthetic. Originally launched via Kickstarter in 2021, the project surpassed its fundraising goal, raising over €103,000 from 323 backers.

These earrings offer directional sound technology, transmitting audio directly into the ear canal while minimizing sound leakage. They feature two high-end microphones for clear phone conversations and noise cancellation. The product boasts three hours of playtime, with a charging case that extends total usage to over 20 hours. Each earring is lightweight, with controls for calls and music conveniently located on the back.

Despite a lull in publicity since their Kickstarter success, the current situation suggests that controversy may serve as a clever marketing strategy for Icebach.
