As the Philadelphia Eagles prepare for the final day of the regular season, they remain uncertain about their wildcard playoff opponent. This uncertainty is heightened following the Seattle Seahawks’ recent 13-3 victory against the San Francisco 49ers, which did not narrow down the possible matchups for the Eagles. As it stands, the Eagles could potentially face the 49ers, Los Angeles Rams, or Green Bay Packers when the playoffs commence the weekend of January 10-12.

Currently, with an 11-5 record, the Eagles hold the No. 3 seed in the NFC playoffs as they head into their game against the Washington Commanders on January 4. There is, however, a possibility that they could climb to the No. 2 seed if they secure a win coupled with a loss from the Chicago Bears against the Detroit Lions. Should this scenario unfold, the Eagles would meet the Packers, who are fixed in the No. 7 seed with a 9-6-1 record.

If the Eagles maintain their No. 3 seeding, they will encounter either the Rams or the 49ers. The recent defeat of the 49ers has enabled the Seahawks to clinch the No. 1 overall seed. Should the Rams win against the Arizona Cardinals, they would elevate to the No. 5 seed, pushing the 49ers down to the No. 6 seed, resulting in a matchup against the Eagles in Philadelphia. Conversely, a Rams loss would see the 49ers taking the No. 5 seed, thereby arranging a contest against the Eagles.

The Eagles’ history against the Rams is notable, having triumphed over them in their last encounter on September 21. The Eagles showcased resilience by overcoming a 26-7 deficit to clinch a 33-26 victory. A highlight from that game included a last-second block from Jordan Davis that turned into a defensive touchdown. In previous meetings spanning the last season, the Eagles also emerged victorious against the Rams.

Looking at their potential match against the Packers, the Eagles previously faced them on November 10, winning a close game 10-7 in Green Bay before the Packers lost key defensive players. The Packers are on a losing streak and will close their season against the Minnesota Vikings.

As for the 49ers, the Eagles have not faced them this season, but their last meeting resulted in a significant 42-19 defeat for the Eagles, which initiated a challenging phase for the team.

The wild-card playoff round is scheduled for January 10-11, with a Monday night matchup on January 12, leading to the division round the following weekend. Fans are eagerly anticipating Super Bowl 60, set for February 8, 2026, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

As the Eagles head into this decisive phase of the season, their performance against the Commanders will be crucial in determining their playoff strategy and potential matchups.
