Actor Dylan Walsh, known for his role in “Nip/Tuck,” recently experienced a harrowing car accident that left him visibly shaken, as captured in newly released police bodycam footage. Immediately following the crash, Walsh’s vehicle is seen veering into oncoming traffic, ultimately colliding with two utility poles. His wife, Leslie, is also visible in the footage receiving medical attention for her injuries on the street.
In the video, Dylan recounts to officers that he was driving the SUV but remains uncertain about how the accident transpired. He explains that he was extremely tired and admits to taking his eyes off the road momentarily, which led to the collision. Walsh points out that he, along with his family, had been exposed to the sun all day, potentially contributing to his fatigue.
Additionally, Walsh acknowledges having consumed alcohol earlier. Officers found an open cooler bag in the vehicle containing alcoholic beverages, including White Claw Hard Seltzers. A bystander, who claims to know the couple, alleged that both Dylan and Leslie were highly intoxicated at the time of the incident. The same person reported that immediately following the crash, Dylan urged Leslie to retrieve a bag from the backseat, though the contents of the bag were unknown.
In spite of these allegations, the attending officer noted a lack of alcohol odor when speaking with Leslie. Walsh complied with an officer’s request for a blood test to determine blood alcohol content while being transported in an ambulance.
The incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of driving while impaired, whether due to alcohol, fatigue, or both. It highlights the importance of road safety, and the potential consequences of even a brief lapse in attention.
