Dylan Murry is set to make his return to the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship after a year away, joining AF Corse’s LMP2 team for the forthcoming Battle on the Bricks at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Murry will drive the No. 88 Oreca 07 Gibson for AF Corse during the six-hour Michelin Endurance Cup race, partnering with Luis Perez Companc and Nicklas Nielsen to fill the spot left vacant by Lilou Wadoux.
Wadoux is unavailable for the Indianapolis race due to scheduling conflicts with the SUPER GT’s Sugo 300km event occurring on the same weekend.
“I am honored and thankful to get the opportunity with AF Corse,” Murry expressed. “This team has a successful history, and it reflects in their team culture. Winning is their priority, which makes it a great fit. I’m excited to join this remarkable team.”
He continued, “Being with Nicklas and Luis is a great privilege. Nicklas’s credentials are impressive – he is a Ferrari Factory Driver and part of the overall Le Mans winning team this year.”
Murry noted that he has completed several tests with the team and sees potential for a strong performance. “I thank everyone who made this possible. Endurance racing is my passion, and I look forward to working with AF Corse, a disciplined and committed team. Over the past few months, I have trained extensively and am more prepared for a race than ever before.”
Murry’s last appearance in the WeatherTech Championship was a one-off LMP3 race with Jr III Motorsports at Road America last year. Before that, he was part of Racing Team Nederland’s LMP2 squad in the Endurance Cup, where he achieved podium finishes at prominent events such as the Rolex 24 at Daytona, the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring, and Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen.
