Dylan Efron faced an unexpected setback just before Halloween during his stint on Dancing With the Stars. The Traitors alum took to Instagram to share that he suffered a broken nose while rehearsing a dance move with his professional partner, Daniella Karagach. In the unfortunate incident, Daniella accidentally struck him with her elbow. Nonetheless, Efron remained optimistic about his situation.
“I broke my nose,” he posted alongside a picture from the hospital. Despite the injury, he conveyed his confidence that it would not interfere with his dancing. “I’m seriously all good, but I’ll never forget the way Dani, Pasha, and Danielle WOULDN’T leave my side when it happened. It warms my heart to have friends like them,” he expressed. After a quick visit to the hospital, he reassured his fans that he would be back on the dance floor promptly.
Efron is not the only contestant grappling with difficulties this season; fellow competitor Danielle Fishel also faced challenges after pulling a hamstring earlier in the competition. She took to social media to share her recovery journey, even showcasing her injury but assuring fans of her progress.
Despite these hurdles, Efron has shown remarkable improvement in his performances, earning accolades from the judges. A memorable highlight of his journey occurred during Dedication Night when he shared a joyful dance with his sister Olivia to “Rewrite the Stars,” paying tribute to their older brother, Zac Efron, who sang the original version in the 2017 musical The Greatest Showman. Their heartfelt performance garnered top scores, highlighting their dedication and hard work.
Although Zac Efron has yet to attend the live shows, Dylan noted that his brother has been a strong support behind the scenes, emphasizing the significance of family throughout his journey. The encouragement from his sister Olivia has also been a crucial boost for him during the competition.
As Dylan Efron and Daniella Karagach continue to navigate their Dancing With the Stars journey alongside eight other couples, viewers can expect plenty of exciting performances ahead. Fans can catch the action on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC and Disney+, with episodes available for streaming the following day on Hulu.
