NBC meteorologist Dylan Dreyer has announced her separation from husband Brian Fichera, revealing the news through an Instagram post on July 18. The cohost of the “Today” show shared a heartfelt message alongside a sunset photograph, stating, “For many years, I have shared my family with you — the highs and lows, the ups and downs, and all of the blessings and beautiful memories in between.”
Dreyer explained that the couple had made the decision to separate a few months prior but emphasized their commitment to remain friends and co-parent their three sons: Calvin, Oliver, and Rusty, whom they cherish deeply. The couple, who wed in 2012, began their relationship while Dreyer was working at the Boston station WHDH, where they first met.
Although Fichera has appeared less frequently in Dreyer’s social media this year, she celebrated him publicly with a Father’s Day post in June, acknowledging their shared parenting journey.
This personal transition comes during a challenging time for the NBC “Today” team. Earlier this year, Dreyer’s cohost Sheinelle Jones faced the tragic loss of her husband, Uche Ojeh, who passed away from glioblastoma, an aggressive brain cancer. Dreyer offered her support and condolences to Jones, reflecting on the importance of friendship and community during tough times, and shared her own grief in the process.
Overall, while the separation marks a significant change in Dreyer’s life, her focus remains on maintaining a loving environment for her children, signaling a hopeful outlook toward the future.
