Artem Chigvintsev, a professional dancer from “Dancing With The Stars,” was arrested on Thursday morning for suspected domestic violence. The 42-year-old was taken into custody and booked at Napa County Jail on a felony charge under penal code 273.5(a), which prohibits injuring a spouse, cohabitant, or fellow parent during incidents of domestic violence. His bail is set at $25,000.
The arrest occurred around 10 a.m. PT in Yountville, a town located north of Napa. As of Thursday afternoon, Chigvintsev remained in custody, according to the Napa County Jail website. Local authorities have not released further details about the alleged victim or the circumstances surrounding the arrest as they continue their investigation.
Henry Wofford, a public information officer for the Napa County Sheriff’s Office, emphasized their commitment to protecting victims and noted the standard protocol for handling domestic violence cases.
Chigvintsev is married to former WWE star Nikki Garcia, who shared in an Instagram Story that she was also in Napa at the time. Garcia is scheduled to co-host a Netflix live competitive eating event on Monday.
Throughout his career, Chigvintsev has participated in 12 seasons of “Dancing With The Stars,” winning Season 29 with Kaitlyn Bristowe and finishing fourth in the most recent season with Charity Lawson. Reports indicate he will not be included in the cast for the upcoming Season 33.
Chigvintsev and Garcia, who were partners on Season 25 of the show, married in 2022 and share a son named Matteo. Just three days before his arrest, the couple celebrated their wedding anniversary on social media.
