Fiji 7s representative Waisea Nacuqu has officially stepped back from the Mike Friday Select team ahead of the McDonalds Coral Coast Fiji 7s tournament. This decision follows formal communication from the Human Resources Director of the Fiji Police, which stated that, as an active and compensated member of the Fiji Police, Nacuqu must return to his official duties and remain available for police responsibilities.

Tournament organizers have expressed their full acknowledgment and respect for the Fiji Police’s position, emphasizing the importance of Nacuqu’s professional commitments. He becomes the second player from the police unit to withdraw from the upcoming matches, following Ilikimi Torosi.

In light of these changes, team management has announced the addition of Sairuisi Vunisa to the squad. Vunisa has proven his talent and skill by earning a spot in the 2024 Ambassador All Star Team, recognized through the Rupeni Caucaunibuca selection, which highlights players displaying explosive flair and game-changing capabilities—a legacy Vunisa embodies.

The Coral Coast 7s tournament is set to commence next Thursday at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka, with matches available for viewing live and exclusively on FBC Sports. As the tournament approaches, excitement builds, with teams and fans alike eager to witness the action and showcase of talent.
