Duran Returns as Fenerbahçe Shuffles for Rizespor Clash

Fenerbahçe’s head coach Domenico Tedesco made three changes to the lineup for their away match against Çaykur Rizespor in the 13th week of the Trendyol Süper Lig. The yellow-navy team began the match with several alterations compared to their last league game.

A notable comeback was that of Colombian forward Jhon Duran, who returned to the starting eleven after a long injury layoff. Duran, who made a significant impact by scoring in the Beşiktaş derby on November 2, had also appeared in the last two European cup matches. His return to the first team marked his first start since August 23, when he played in the match against Kocaelispor.

Additionally, national player Mert Müldür took the place of Portuguese right-back Nelson Semedo, who was unavailable due to a yellow card suspension. This match marked Müldür’s second start of the season. With Semedo, Edson Alvarez, and Anderson Talisca all absent, İsmail Yüksek, Müldür, and Duran filled the gaps in the starting lineup.

Fenerbahçe’s strategic changes reflect their commitment to adapting and strengthening the team, showcasing youthful talent and resilience in overcoming player absences. The return of Duran, especially, adds a promising dynamic to their attacking force as they move forward in the league.
