Duke Softball Welcomes Dynamic Class of 2025 Recruits

Duke University’s softball program has announced the addition of seven talented recruits during National Signing Day, bringing in a dynamic class for the 2025 season. Coach Young expressed excitement about the new talent, highlighting their combination of speed, power, and athleticism, which is expected to enhance the Blue Devils’ performance on the field.

Among the new signings is London Collins, who earned First Team All-District honors and holds her high school’s stolen base record with 38 steals. She has also been named the Cedar Ridge High School Newcomer of the Year, showcasing her remarkable skills and determination.

Brookelyn Grayson joins with a robust background in travel ball, playing with the Indiana Shockwaves. She has distinguished herself with All-Tournament selections and is also a dedicated student as a member of the National Honor Society.

Ariel Krueger is another significant addition, noted for her three-time All-Region selections and All-State honors. Her consistent performance over four years has positioned her well within the National Honor Society and as a two-time Academic All-State selection.

Adelyn Matthews has also been recognized as a four-time First Team All-Big Bend selection, demonstrating her strong presence in her high school softball career. Caitlyn Nesbitt, a versatile player, has received accolades as both Offensive Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year during her years at Dublin High School.

Gabriella Shadek stands out as the 2024 North Jersey Player of the Year and has set her school’s single-season home run record. Finally, Jayla Stafford was named the Coastal League Player of the Year in 2023 and has continuously excelled in her performance, demonstrating her leadership qualities.

The incoming recruits have shared their reasons for choosing Duke, emphasizing not only the academic rigor and beautiful campus but also the welcoming nature of the coaching staff and the sense of community within the program.
