Emilee Skinner, a standout point guard from Millville, Utah, has signed with Duke University to join its women’s basketball program for the 2025 freshman class. Standing at 6 feet tall, Skinner is a remarkable athlete who has consistently demonstrated her prowess on the court. She is currently ranked No. 7 in the espnW 2025 Class and has accumulated an impressive 1,622 career points throughout her three seasons at Ridgeline High School.
Throughout her high school career, Skinner has garnered numerous accolades, including being named a 2024 U17 FIBA World Cup Gold Medalist and the 2024 Utah Gatorade Girls Basketball Player of the Year. She has also earned the title of Deseret News Ms. Basketball and the Utah MaxPreps Player of the Year for 2024. Notably, she has been recognized as a three-time Herald Journal All-Valley Player of the Year and has achieved the title of Region 11 MVP three times.
In her junior year, Skinner averaged an impressive 24.0 points, 7.7 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 1.7 blocks, and 3.5 steals per game, leading Ridgeline to a remarkable 25-2 record and securing the team’s second consecutive state championship. Her sophomore year was equally stellar, with averages of 21.2 points and a perfect 25-0 record for the state title.
Duke women’s head coach expressed enthusiasm over Skinner’s potential, describing her as a competitive player with a strong work ethic and an impressive basketball IQ. Skinner is praised for her versatility, great vision, and high shooting percentage from three-point range, along with her size and athleticism which complement Duke’s defensive strategies.
