Drive-By Shooting Standoff: Man Arrested in Indiana

In Laurel, Indiana, a man was arrested on Saturday following a drive-by shooting incident that occurred near the Long Branch Tavern. Authorities from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office reported that shortly before 1 a.m., a vehicle passed the establishment, and its driver opened fire at a parked truck.

An investigation that included witness accounts and surveillance footage led officers to seek 49-year-old Jeremy Douglas Wilson. He was subsequently found at his home on Elm Tree Road. When law enforcement officials approached his residence, Wilson emerged armed with an AR-15 style rifle and allegedly did not comply with their commands, resulting in a brief standoff.

Fortunately, Wilson was apprehended without further incident, and he now faces felony charges related to the shooting. He is currently being held at the Franklin County Security Center. Thankfully, no injuries were reported during the incident, though authorities are still unclear on what prompted the shooting.

Additional law enforcement agencies, including the Brookville Police Department, Rush County Sheriff’s Office, and Indiana State Police, assisted at the scene, demonstrating a collaborative effort to ensure community safety.
