The Little Rock Touchdown Club has announced the final results for the 2025 Harlon Hill Award, recognizing the NCAA Division II College Football Player of the Year. This year, Western Colorado senior quarterback Drew Nash made history by finishing seventh in the voting, the highest placement ever for a Mountaineer player. Nash, who garnered 36 points, surpassed the previous highest finish by Austin Ekeler, who placed eighth in 2016.
Nash’s accomplishments this season have been remarkable, as he has amassed a collection of postseason honors. He kickstarted his recognition by being named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Offensive Player of the Year and a first-team quarterback. Following this, he received the NCAA DII Conference Commissioner’s Association (D2CCA) Offensive Player of the Year award, along with another first-team quarterback selection.
Continuing his streak of achievements, Nash was also honored as the RMAC All-Academic Player of the Year on offense, as well as the first-team All-Academic quarterback. Furthermore, on December 17, he earned a spot on the Associated Press (AP) DII All-America second team as an all-purpose player for the second consecutive year. The following day, he was named the National Football Foundation-Colorado Chapter’s Offensive Player of the Year.
As Western Colorado’s all-time leader in career passing touchdowns with 77, Nash led the Mountaineers to the NCAA DII playoffs for the third consecutive season, advancing to the second round for the second year in a row. His impressive stats this season include 33 touchdown passes, ranking him third in Division II, and 11 rushing touchdowns that placed him 29th nationally. These achievements elevated him to second place in DII for points responsible per game (22.0) and third in total points responsible for (264).
Nash concludes his career with impressive statistics, holding the second-highest passing yards in school history at 8,061 and the second-most career completions at 647. He is also tied for seventh in career rushing touchdowns with 23. Nash is only the second finalist to represent Western Colorado for the Harlon Hill Award, joining the ranks of previous regional finalists Chaumont Bouknight (2003), Ekeler (2015, 2016), and Ricky Freymond (2024). This recognition marks a significant milestone for both Nash and the Mountaineers, underlining their growing prominence in DII football.
