Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors has opened up about the physical toll he experienced during Monday night’s narrow 103-102 defeat against the Los Angeles Clippers. After the game, Green candidly remarked, “I’m beat the f–k up… But I’ll be all right on Wednesday.” His injuries were primarily sustained when he dove for a loose ball, colliding with the Warriors’ bench, which resulted in a rib injury among other bumps and bruises.

Specifically, Green revealed, “I crashed into the bench and knocked a rib out. Then right after that I rolled my ankle. I fell on my wrist and hurt my left wrist. So, it’s just an accumulation of this game.” As reported by Nick Friedell of The Athletic, the Warriors later confirmed that Green is dealing with a rib contusion.

Despite his struggles on the offensive end, where he managed just six points on 2-of-8 shooting and failed to make any of his six attempts from three-point range, Green contributed significantly in other areas, notching 12 assists, five rebounds, and two steals while maintaining discipline with just one foul.

The game also saw superstar Stephen Curry facing a frustrating end as he fouled out with 43 seconds left on the clock, contributing a game-high 27 points prior to his exit. Compounding the Warriors’ troubles, head coach Steve Kerr received two technical fouls during the fourth quarter for disputing calls, which led to his ejection.

The Warriors have faced inconsistency lately, having lost two of their last three games and three out of their last six, resulting in a current record of 19-18. This places them eighth in the competitive Western Conference, keeping them firmly in the playoff mix but dangerously close to the play-in tournament zone.

As the Warriors navigate these challenges, the resilience demonstrated by players like Green in the face of adversity highlights the team’s determination to stay competitive as they look forward to upcoming games. The hope remains that they can regroup and find their rhythm as the season progresses.
