Draunivi 220m Road Upgrade in Ra Promises Safer Fiji Commutes

As part of the ongoing “Rip and Remake” and “Maintenance Programs” along Kings Road, significant roadworks have progressed to the Draunivi area in Ra. This project is focused on enhancing accessibility for residents and improving travel conditions for daily commuters along this vital route. A total of 220 meters will be upgraded, significantly increasing safety and ensuring smoother travel once the work is completed.

The Ministry of Public Works, Meteorological Services, and Transport is collaborating closely with the Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) to implement these essential infrastructure improvements. This initiative is a part of wider efforts to uplift Fiji’s transport network, as seen in similar ongoing projects throughout the region, including those on Rewa Street and McGregor Road that aim to improve road conditions across the country.

Motorists using these routes are being urged to exercise caution and adhere to all traffic signals and directions provided by traffic controllers. While temporary disruptions can be inconvenient, the long-term benefits of such infrastructure enhancements are significant, culminating in safer and more efficient travel for residents and visitors alike.

These ongoing improvements underscore the government’s commitment to creating a reliable transport infrastructure, which is fundamental to supporting economic activities and enhancing community connectivity. As these projects move forward, the community’s cooperation is key to their success, fostering optimism for a more resilient transportation framework across Fiji.
