Myrtle Beach Police are seeking assistance from the public following a dramatic pursuit that began at approximately 8:15 a.m. on South Ocean Boulevard and culminated in a crash around 8:34 a.m. at 67th Avenue North. The department has released a map indicating the route taken by the vehicle, highlighting locations where officers were fired upon during the chase.
The suspects in this incident, Omarion Glass, 20, of Greensboro, NC, and 17-year-old Riley Pegram of Brown Summit, NC, face multiple serious charges. Glass is charged with three counts of attempted murder, possession of a firearm during a violent crime, and involvement with a minor in committing certain crimes. Pegram faces similar charges, including kidnapping and unlawful possession of a handgun.
Assistance from Horry County police was requested during the pursuit, which ended when the suspect vehicle crashed. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. While four individuals from the vehicle were detained, two have since been released and are not facing charges at this time.
According to police warrants, during the high-speed chase, Glass allegedly leaned out of the car and fired multiple rounds at pursuing officers using an AR rifle. The investigation revealed that he is also wanted for a parole violation related to narcotics.
Both Glass and Pegram have been denied bond for their charges, including the attempted murder counts, and remain in custody at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center.
