Drake has officially canceled his previously postponed concerts in Australia and New Zealand, marking the end of the hopes for fans eager to see him perform live. The rapper’s shows, part of his Anita Max Win tour, were initially rescheduled due to a scheduling conflict. However, Live Nation Australia announced that rescheduling the shows—set for Sydney, Brisbane, and Auckland—was ultimately not feasible.
In February, four of the concerts were delayed, with assurances from Drake’s representative that efforts were being made to reschedule these dates and potentially add more shows. Unfortunately, despite extensive efforts, Live Nation confirmed the cancellation in a statement on July 29, expressing regret over the inability to find a suitable solution within the time constraints.
Drake’s tour, which kicked off on February 4, included stops in Perth and Melbourne, and he successfully completed other shows before making this decision. The rapper’s last performance occurred on February 25, just prior to the announcement of the postponements.
In the days leading up to the cancellation, Drake hinted at personal changes, sharing a somewhat cryptic message on social media regarding his “next chapter,” which left some fans speculating about the nature and direction of his career.
While the cancellation is disappointing for many, it is worth noting that Drake has remained active in the music scene, with appearances in various festivals worldwide, including Lollapalooza Argentina and the Wireless Festival in London.
As fans look ahead, there’s always the possibility that the rapper may plan future tours that could reconnect him with his global audience. This moment serves as a reminder of the unpredictability of live performances, and the hope remains that Drake will return to Australia and New Zealand soon with new music and fresh energy.
