Fans will have to be patient a bit longer for the highly anticipated livestream featuring Drake and Kai Cenat, as Cenat has announced a delay. He shared the news on social media on Wednesday (June 11), just hours before the scheduled livestream that was set for Thursday. In his Instagram Story, Cenat informed his followers that they needed more time to work on the treatments for their project, “Somebody Loves Me.”
Cenat wrote, “We need more time with the treatments for somebody who loves me. So we are pushing the stream back a few more days [fingers crossed emoji] Apologies.”
The collaboration between Kai and Drake has been highly sought after by fans since 2023. Back in April, Cenat revealed plans to select 20 fans to help contribute to the treatments for the “Somebody Loves Me” music video, with the livestream meant to announce the chosen fans.
This latest single is part of Drake and PartyNextDoor’s collaborative album, $ome $exy $ongs 4 U, which is set to launch an overseas tour later this year. “Somebody Loves Me” stands as the album’s third single, following the releases of “Nokia” and “Gimmie A Hug.”
Fans took to social media to express their disappointment over the last-minute rescheduling. Some pointed out Drake’s recent track record of cancellations, while others speculated that the postponement might be tied to Cenat’s interactions with Kendrick Lamar at the BET Awards, suggesting that it could have affected fan excitement surrounding the livestream.
Despite the frustration, there’s hope that the additional time will allow for an even more polished and engaging presentation. This delay could ultimately lead to a richer experience for fans, as both Drake and Cenat work to deliver something truly special.
