Guy Beahm, widely recognized as Dr Disrespect, recently returned to YouTube to vehemently deny accusations that he sent explicit messages or images to a minor. In an emotional and lengthy statement, he claimed he “shouldn’t even be banned” from Twitch. Beahm characterized the contested messages as mere “banter” and insisted that the recipient was “over the legal age of consent.”
Visibly upset, Beahm addressed the allegations, which stated he sent inappropriate messages via Twitch’s Whispers function. He criticized media outlets that covered the story and argued that the claims were part of a coordinated attack against him. He specifically called out Cody Conners, a former Twitch employee who first revealed the reasoning behind Beahm’s Twitch ban, asserting that Conners “wasn’t even involved” in his case and declaring the matter had been “settled professionally.”
Responding to claims made on social media, Beahm stated, “You don’t know sh*t and it was obvious from your tweet. You didn’t have any firsthand knowledge about my dispute with Twitch.” He further denied having met the individual in question at TwitchCon and emphasized, “I never intended to meet this user ever. We never made plans to meet at TwitchCon or anywhere else, and in fact, we never met in person ever.”
Beahm’s emotional message was delivered during his first stream since June, aptly titled “The Truth.” He aimed to clarify that he had been banned from Twitch due to these alleged messages sent back in 2020. According to a former Twitch employee, the messages sent were graphic and sexually explicit, leading to Beahm’s ban.
In previous statements made after the allegations surfaced, Beahm admitted to having exchanged messages but maintained, “I’m not perfect, but I’m not a predator,” and insisted that “nothing illegal happened.” His ousting from Midnight Society, the gaming studio he co-founded, followed shortly after Conners shared details on social media.
Dr Disrespect’s statement included an apology to his community and a reiteration that his conversations with the individual involved were casual and lacked any illegal intentions. He stressed that no explicit images were exchanged and he had never met the person in question.
Beahm concluded with a firm message to his critics, asserting he would not be silenced and intends to return stronger. He expressed gratitude towards his supporters while dismissing those who questioned his integrity in light of the allegations. His YouTube channel currently remains demonetized, but he indicated plans to reapply for monetization soon.
