Downtown San Antonio is gearing up for an action-packed weekend from October 24-26, with Saturday, October 25, poised to be particularly bustling due to major events such as Muertos Fest and a highly anticipated concert by Paul McCartney at the Alamodome. With the influx of visitors expected, it is advisable to plan ahead to ensure a seamless experience and minimize traffic delays.

To facilitate travel, VIA Metropolitan Transit is providing a valuable service by offering free Park & Ride options for attendees heading to Muertos Fest and the concert. This service will operate from 3 p.m. to midnight on the event day, transporting guests to the Robert Thompson Transit Station, conveniently located adjacent to the Alamodome.

Free Park & Ride service will be available from several locations, including:

– Crossroads Park & Ride (151 Crossroads Blvd.)
– Brooks Transit Center (3026 Sidney Brooks Drive)
– Frost Bank Center Lots 6 & 7 (3205 E. Houston St.)

Riders can use Route 100 Prímo Fredericksburg Road for easy connections between downtown parking garages and the venues. Additionally, to celebrate Make A Difference Day on October 25, VIA will offer fare-free service across its entire system, promoting community involvement and acts of kindness.

For those utilizing rideshare services, designated drop-off and pick-up will take place at Alamodome Lot D, located on the west side of I-37/US 281. Rideshare users may also find it beneficial to travel to the Frost Bank Center Lots 6 and 7 to connect with VIA’s free Park & Ride service.

Parking will be available throughout the downtown area, with the City’s SAPark website offering a map of available garages and lots. Most of these facilities will implement event rates capped at $15 starting the afternoon of October 24 until October 26. There are also numerous privately operated parking options offering thousands of spots for guests.

For concertgoers specifically, further parking and transportation details can be found on the Alamodome’s official website. In the event that downtown parking becomes scarce, visitors are encouraged to head to the Frost Bank Center Lots 6 and 7 to utilize VIA’s free Park & Ride service.

Overall, with well-coordinated transportation options in place, attendees can look forward to an enjoyable and memorable weekend filled with festivities and music.
