A DoorDash delivery driver claims she encountered Bryan Kohberger, the suspect in the high-profile stabbing case involving four University of Idaho students, on the night of the murders. This revelation came to light during an unrelated incident on September 4, 2024, when the woman was detained by police. According to body camera footage, she stated, “I’m the DoorDash Driver. I saw Bryan. I parked right next to him,” and expressed that she would be testifying in the upcoming trial.
Kohberger is facing four counts of first-degree murder for the stabbings of Xana Kernodle, Ethan Chapin, Kaylee Goncalves, and Madison Mogen, which occurred in November 2022. The trial is set to commence on August 11, with jury selection beginning August 4. If convicted, Kohberger could face the death penalty.
Authorities have not confirmed the woman’s claims due to a nondissemination order in place, but her initials match those of the DoorDash driver mentioned in court documents. She is among the few individuals believed to have seen Kohberger near the crime scene, alongside a surviving roommate who reportedly saw him leave the residence.
The DoorDash driver delivered food from Jack in the Box to Kernodle at approximately 4 a.m., shortly before the murders are believed to have occurred. According to the probable cause affidavit, Kohberger was linked to the scene through DNA found on a knife sheath, cell phone data, and surveillance footage showing a vehicle matching his’s.
Kohberger’s defense attorney has indicated that he maintains his innocence and was reportedly alone in his vehicle during the time of the murders. He has expressed confidence in his eventual exoneration.
This case continues to draw significant public interest as it involves complex legal issues and tragic loss. As the trial approaches, many look forward to the pursuit of justice and closure for the families involved.
