Donald Glover Reveals Stroke on World Tour, Cancels Dates

Donald Glover, known for his musical persona Childish Gambino, recently disclosed that he suffered a stroke during his 2024 world tour, which ultimately led to the cancellation of his upcoming performance dates. Speaking at Tyler the Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival in Los Angeles on November 22, Glover shared his experience of feeling unwell while still performing for his fans.

“I was doing this world tour, having lots of fun,” Glover recounted. However, he began experiencing severe headaches while in Louisiana and chose to perform despite the discomfort. Matters worsened when he arrived in Houston, where his health took a serious turn. “I couldn’t really see well,” he explained, prompting him to seek medical attention. It was there he learned he had suffered a stroke.

Glover expressed a deep concern for his fans, saying, “The first thing I thought was like, ‘I’m letting everybody down.’” Following the stroke, further medical evaluations revealed an additional issue: doctors found a hole in his heart, which required surgery—followed by another operation.

This harrowing experience not only highlights the importance of listening to one’s body but also emphasizes Glover’s dedication to his fans and community. Despite facing significant health challenges, he remains hopeful for recovery and a return to performing. His resilience serves as an inspiration, encouraging others to prioritize their health while pursuing their passions.
