Dominik Mysterio, often referred to as “Dirty Dom,” has become a prominent figure in wrestling discussions throughout 2025, gaining considerable popularity among fans and media globally. In a recent interview with Liam O’Loughlin from Wide World of Sports in Australia, Dominik addressed several topics, including his journey following in his father’s footsteps and his ambitions for the future.
Discussing the legacy of the Mysterio name, Dominik expressed, “I don’t really feel the pressure. Being part of a multi-generational family in the industry and having the Mysterio name—considering everything my father has accomplished—has been more of a motivation than a burden. It inspires me to go out there, have fun, and work hard. Now, when people talk about the Mysterios, they also mention me, which is amazing to witness.”
Dominik also shared his dreams of potentially stepping into the ring with WWE legend John Cena, acknowledging their long history. He stated, “It would be amazing. I’d love to put one of the final nails in the coffin of John Cena’s career. I’ve known him since I was a kid, so being able to get in the ring with him would be awesome. This is the only title he has never held in WWE. If he wants some, he can come and get some.” Cena is expected to make his last appearances at Raw events in Boston on November 10 and New York City on November 17, setting the stage for a possible showdown.
Dominik has already faced legends at iconic venues like Madison Square Garden, where he fought CM Punk in one of Punk’s first matches back with WWE in December 2023. Fans are eager to see if Dominik will have another opportunity to secure a victory over a wrestling icon.
Looking ahead, Dominik is set to appear on tonight’s WWE Raw event at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, where he will no doubt continue to capture the attention of fans and critics alike. His upward trajectory in wrestling reflects not only his skill but also the excitement surrounding the future of the Mysterio legacy.
