He revealed that his girlfriend, who is now his wife, encouraged him to seize the opportunity to train in Tampa, despite his initial reluctance. “I was around 260 pounds, just lost. My wife, now girlfriend at the time, she knew it,” Dominik shared, recounting how emotionally overwhelmed he felt. “I told her, ‘There’s this opportunity, might go train in Tampa for six months.’ I was like, ‘But I don’t really want to do it, I don’t want to leave,’ and I just remembered I started crying. She looked at me and said, ‘Dom, you have to go. You got to do this.’”
Dominik’s involvement in wrestling took off during the pandemic, a time he described as difficult due to the absence of fans. Recently, in an interview on ESPN First Take, he responded to Cody Rhodes, who referred to him as the future of WWE. Dominik expressed his gratitude for Rhodes’ recognition, highlighting the importance of his endorsement. “Cody’s like that big brother who goes off to college. You don’t really see him all the time, but you get excited when he comes back to town,” he noted. The approval from Rhodes means a lot to him, as it validates his efforts and aspirations.
