The Miami Dolphins secured a narrow victory over the New England Patriots, winning 15-10 in a game filled with errors and missed opportunities. Ja’Lynn Polk came close to making a touchdown catch in the final moments, but the pass was ruled incomplete after a review.

In a lackluster matchup between two struggling teams, Miami managed to capitalize on just enough plays to take the lead. Fullback Alec Ingold scored the Dolphins’ only touchdown with a 3-yard run late in the fourth quarter, marking a significant moment as Miami overcame a series of self-inflicted wounds. “Some of the things that we’re shooting ourselves in the foot with right now, it was a full team win to be able to overcome those issues. We know that that’s not acceptable,” stated Ingold.

Throughout the game, Miami struggled with special teams issues, including a blocked punt and two missed field goals, which nearly cost them the game. Jason Sanders contributed with three successful field goals, helping the Dolphins secure their first win since quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was sidelined with a concussion in Week 2.

Patriots quarterback Jacoby Brissett had a tough outing, completing 18 of 34 passes for 160 yards and facing issues with penalties that hindered the team’s ability to score. Despite a solid performance from running back Rhamondre Stevenson, who had a 33-yard touchdown in the first quarter, the Patriots could not build on their momentum.

Late in the game, the Patriots had a last-ditch chance to take the lead but were thwarted by penalties and clock management mistakes. Coach Jerod Mayo expressed frustration about the conduct of his team, which accrued 12 penalties for 105 yards.

Injuries affected both teams, with the Dolphins losing running back De’Von Achane to a concussion and safety Jevon Holland due to a hand injury. The Patriots were without key players but welcomed receiver Kendrick Bourne and safety Marte Mapu back from injured reserve.

Looking ahead, the Dolphins will have a week off before facing the Indianapolis Colts, while the Patriots prepare to host the Houston Texans next Sunday.
