Dollar Tree is set to close its stores on December 25 in observance of Christmas Day, marking one of the few days it closes its doors each year. This 24-hour hiatus means shoppers will need to stock up on essentials ahead of the holiday, as many retailers will also be observing similar closures during this festive period.

Typically, Dollar Tree remains open during most federal and bank holidays, but it shuts down completely on Christmas and Thanksgiving. On December 24, Christmas Eve, the stores are expected to have reduced hours, generally closing by 6:00 p.m., though times may vary by location. Following the holiday, Dollar Tree will resume operations on New Year’s Day, providing shoppers with access to various products while many other retailers are closed.

In line with the holiday closures, other retailers such as Big Lots, Costco, Sam’s Club, and Target have also confirmed they will not open on Christmas Day. Costco plans to close at 5:00 p.m. on Christmas Eve, and Sam’s Club will allow shoppers in until 6:00 p.m. on the same day. Target encourages customers to explore its website and app during the holiday.

A wide array of other popular retailers will also be closed on Christmas, including Walmart, Aldi, Ikea, Home Depot, Lowe’s, Macy’s, Publix, Meijer, Trader Joe’s, and Whole Foods. Shoppers looking for last-minute options should be aware that most CVS locations are expected to remain open, and it is advisable to call local stores to confirm their hours.

For quick convenience, many 7-Eleven locations will operate on Christmas, although hours may vary. Additionally, those in the Northeast and Florida can turn to Cumberland Farms for groceries or last-minute dessert options for their holiday meals.

As shoppers prepare for the holiday season, planning ahead will ensure they have everything needed to celebrate with family and friends.
