Tampa native Doechii made waves at the 67th Grammy Awards by taking home her first Grammy for “Best Rap Album” with her acclaimed project, “Alligator Bites Never Heal.” This significant achievement makes her only the third woman to claim this honor.
In her heartfelt acceptance speech, the 26-year-old proudly referred to herself as the “swamp princess,” highlighting her love for her hometown of Tampa. She urged record labels to recognize the talent that Tampa has to offer, stating, “Tampa has so much talent. Labels, go to Tampa, there’s talent there.”
Following her Grammy victory, Doechii delighted fans with the surprise release of a new single titled “Nosebleeds,” celebrating her recent accomplishments.
