Three individuals attempted to break into the Los Angeles home of Dodgers pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto early Wednesday morning, according to a report from NBC4 Los Angeles. Fortunately, no items were stolen, and the intruders never accessed the residence. Authorities reported that the trio jumped over the back fence and shattered a rear glass door around 5:30 a.m. However, staff members present in the home activated the lights, which prompted the would-be burglars to flee the scene. Security cameras captured footage of the incident, but no arrests have been made as of yet.
Yamamoto, who was currently in Cincinnati for a series against the Reds, has been having a strong season with a record of 9-7 and an impressive 2.63 ERA over 21 starts. Known for his remarkable skills, he recorded nine strikeouts in a 5-2 victory over the Reds earlier this week. This year marks his second season in Major League Baseball, following an illustrious career in Japan’s Nippon Professional Baseball, where he was a five-time All-Star.
