Walt Disney World is responding to growing customer dissatisfaction and a drop in park attendance by implementing admission and hotel stay discounts. Since May, the park has been offering reduced ticket packages for three days, allowing access to Hollywood Studios, EPCOT, and Animal Kingdom for $89 per day. However, tickets for Magic Kingdom must still be purchased separately. These discounted prices last until September 24 and represent a significant reduction from the previous peak of $254 for a daily Park Hopper pass.
Additionally, Disney is making efforts to lower overall trip expenses by offering discounts on its budget hotel options. A night at Disney’s All-Star Movies, Music, and Sports Resort may be as low as $100, depending on the booking date, which reflects up to a 27% reduction in standard rates.
This summer, Disney introduced new dining packages that offer discounts of 20% to 30% for dining within the parks. The all-day meal pass costs $30 for children and $95 for adults, which can be used for various meals and snacks. The parks are also providing more quick meal options, affordable children’s meals, and flexible restaurant policies.
Industry experts note that rising food costs in the parks have negatively impacted customer satisfaction. Len Testa, president of TouringPlans.com, highlighted a significant drop in customer satisfaction ratings, which fell from 90% to 60% as Disney shifted from a la carte dining to fixed pricing at many popular restaurants. While Testa appreciates the cost-cutting measures, he warns that these actions may not indicate a genuine commitment to making experiences more affordable or improving guest satisfaction.
