Walt Disney World is responding to growing customer dissatisfaction and decreased attendance by implementing a series of discounts on admission and hotel accommodations. Over the past few months, the popular resort has rolled out initiatives intended to make visits more affordable.

In May, Disney introduced discounted three-day ticket packages for $89 per day, which grant access to Hollywood Studios, EPCOT, and Animal Kingdom. However, tickets to Magic Kingdom must still be purchased separately. This pricing reflects a stark contrast to the peak price of $254 for a daily Park Hopper pass.

Disney is also working to lower overall trip expenses by reducing rates for its budget hotels, with nights at Disney’s All-Star Movies, Music, and Sports Resort available for as little as $100, depending on booking times. These hotel discounts can reach up to 27%, according to a Bloomberg analysis.

Furthermore, the parks are offering new dining packages this summer, enabling families to save between 20% and 30% on meal costs. These plans provide all-day meal passes priced at $30 for children and $95 for adults, allowing for the redemption of meals and snacks. The resort is enhancing its food offerings by adding more quick meal options and child-friendly pricing.

Experts point to rising food costs within the parks as a significant contributor to declining customer satisfaction. Len Testa, president of TouringPlans.com, noted that satisfaction ratings plummeted from 90% to 60% after Disney shifted from a la carte dining to fixed-price meals at many popular restaurants. Although Testa acknowledges the benefits of Disney’s cost-reduction strategies, he expresses caution regarding whether these changes truly reflect a commitment to guest satisfaction rather than revenue generation.
