In light of increased customer dissatisfaction and a decrease in park attendance, Walt Disney World has been implementing various discounts for admission and hotel stays over recent months.

Beginning in May, the resort introduced discounted three-day ticket packages that permit visitors access to Hollywood Studios, EPCOT, and Animal Kingdom for as low as $89 per day. However, it’s important to note that tickets for the Magic Kingdom must be purchased separately.

These reduced ticket prices, valid until September 24, mark a significant reduction from the previous highest daily Park Hopper pass price of $254.

In conjunction with the ticket discounts, Disney has also lowered prices for its budget-friendly hotel accommodations. For example, a stay at Disney’s All-Star Movies, Music, and Sports Resort could be as low as $100, depending on the booking period. These reductions can represent discounts of up to 27%, according to an analysis by Bloomberg.

Additionally, Disney has rolled out new dining packages this summer, which can decrease dining costs by 20% to 30%. The dining plan offers all-day meal passes costing $30 for children and $95 for adults, redeemable for meals and snacks in the parks. The company has also expanded quick meal options and introduced more affordable food choices for children, alongside more flexible dining policies.

Experts suggest that the escalating cost of dining within the parks has contributed significantly to the decline in customer satisfaction. According to Len Testa, president of TouringPlans.com, customer satisfaction ratings fell from 90% to 60% as Disney shifted from a la carte dining to fixed-price meals at many favored restaurants.

While Testa acknowledged the positive effects of Disney’s cost-cutting measures, he expressed concern that these strategies may not fully reflect a commitment to enhancing affordability or improving guest satisfaction.

By focusing on making the experience more accessible, there is potential for restoring customer contentment and increasing park attendance in the future.
