In response to increasing customer dissatisfaction and declining attendance at its parks, Walt Disney World has started offering discounted admission and hotel rates over the past few months.
Since May, Disney has provided special three-day ticket packages, allowing visitors to experience Hollywood Studios, EPCOT, and Animal Kingdom for just $89 per day. However, tickets to the Magic Kingdom must still be purchased separately. This temporary price reduction runs through September 24 and marks a significant decrease from the peak price of $254 for a daily Park Hopper pass.
Additionally, Disney is working to make trips more affordable by slashing rates on its budget accommodations. A stay at Disney’s All-Star Movies, Music, and Sports Resort can now cost as low as $100 a night, which reflects discounts of up to 27% off normal rates, as highlighted in a Bloomberg analysis.
Moreover, the parks have introduced new dining packages this summer that offer discounts between 20% and 30% on food expenses. Families can now purchase all-day meal passes priced at $30 for children and $95 for adults, which can be redeemed for various meals and snacks throughout the parks. Experts suggest that the hike in dining costs has contributed to the drop in customer satisfaction. Len Testa, president of TouringPlans.com, noted a decline in customer satisfaction ratings from 90% to 60% as Disney shifted from a la carte dining to fixed-price meals at many popular restaurants. While Testa commended Disney’s newfound cost-cutting measures, he expressed caution, suggesting that these moves may not genuinely reflect a commitment to improving guest experiences.
