Walt Disney World has been implementing ticket and hotel discounts in response to rising customer dissatisfaction and declining visitor numbers. Over the past few months, the resort has started offering discounted three-day ticket packages, allowing guests to visit Hollywood Studios, EPCOT, and Animal Kingdom for $89 per day. However, tickets for Magic Kingdom are still sold separately.
These lower prices, available until September 24, mark a significant drop from the previous high of $254 for a Park Hopper pass. Additionally, Disney is aiming to ease the overall cost of trips by reducing prices for its most affordable hotel options. Guests can find rates as low as $100 per night at Disney’s All-Star Movies, Music, and Sports Resort, reflecting discounts of up to 27% on standard rates.
This summer, new dining packages have also been introduced, offering savings of 20% to 30% on food expenses within the parks. Families can purchase all-day meal passes for $30 per child and $95 per adult, which can be used for various meals and snacks. Disney World is reportedly enhancing quick meal options and introducing more budget-friendly food for kids, alongside flexible dining policies.
Industry experts attribute escalating food costs in the parks as a key factor behind the decline in customer satisfaction. Len Testa, president of TouringPlans.com, noted a drop in satisfaction ratings from 90% to 60% as Disney shifted from a la carte to fixed-price dining options at many of its popular restaurants.
While Testa acknowledged Disney’s cost-cutting measures, he expressed skepticism about whether these actions genuinely reflect a dedication to affordability or guest satisfaction, pointing out that Disney has historically balanced positive ratings against revenue.
