Heiress Abigail Disney announced she will resume her financial contributions to the Democratic Party now that President Joe Biden has exited the race for reelection.

Disney, whose grandfather was a co-founder of The Walt Disney Company, had previously stated she would halt donations until the party replaced Biden at the top of the ticket. In a recent email to CNBC, she confirmed her decision to support the party again, following Biden’s endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris as his successor.

When she first announced her decision to withdraw funding, Disney expressed her support for Harris. She noted, “We have an excellent Vice President. If Democrats would tolerate any of her perceived shortcomings even one-tenth as much as they have tolerated Biden’s (and let’s not kid ourselves about where race and gender figure in that inequity), and if Democrats can find a way to stop quibbling and rally around her, we can win this election by a lot.”

Disney was among numerous elite Democratic donors who criticized Biden following a disappointing debate performance against former President Donald Trump. Reports suggest that pressure from influential donors and dwindling financial support contributed to Biden’s decision to step back from the race.

Additionally, George Soros and his son, Alex Soros, have also endorsed Harris following Biden’s announcement that he would not seek reelection.
