Two campgrounds near Zion National Park have gained recognition as part of Hipcamp’s list of 50 favorite places to camp in the U.S. this summer. The selected sites are Zion Utah Jellystone Park in Hurricane and Zion Wright Ranch Eco-Camp in Virgin. Hipcamp, known for helping campers find and book various campsites, evaluated over 500,000 sites across 30 states, highlighting both public and private lands ranging from primitive accommodations to RV parks and glamping experiences.
Zion Utah Jellystone Park stands out due to its family-friendly amenities and proximity to Zion National Park. It features numerous activities including splash pads, pools, mini-golf, and playgrounds, all under the playful theme of Yogi Bear. The campground effectively balances entertaining activities for children while offering peaceful spots for adults to unwind. As highlighted, the park is conveniently located just 45 minutes from the stunning landscapes of Zion National Park.
On the other hand, Zion Wright Ranch Eco-Camp is recognized for its expansive 1,200-acre property that provides breathtaking views of Zion’s iconic red cliffs. Praised for its off-grid setting, this eco-camp offers a sense of solitude with options for glamping to cater to different preferences. Visitors can enjoy stargazing under the clear desert night sky, observing wildlife, and exploring nearby trails, making it a perfect getaway for nature enthusiasts.
In addition to the two campgrounds in Utah, several neighboring campgrounds in the Rockies and Southwest also made the list, including locations in Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, and New Mexico.
