New Delhi, Oct 20 – Various diplomatic missions, including those from Finland, Israel, Austria, Brazil, the European Union, and Switzerland, came together to celebrate Diwali, extending heartfelt wishes to people across the globe.
The Finnish Embassy marked the occasion with a festive celebration that featured a quiz, lunch, and lively dance performances. Sharing their Diwali spirit on X, the embassy conveyed, “Happy Diwali from Team Finland in India! Our team marked the occasion with a festive quiz, a delicious lunch, and some lively dance moves — a wonderful moment of togetherness where Finnish diplomats and local colleagues celebrated side by side.”
In a festive act of cultural exchange, officials at the Israeli Embassy participated in Diwali shopping, purchasing flowers and decorative lamps. They also created traditional rangoli at the embassy, emphasizing the spirit of celebration. Their post on X read, “This Diwali, our diplomats went Diya and Decor shopping! May our homes be filled with love and light, today and every day! Happy Diwali.”
Guy Nir, an Israeli Embassy spokesperson, shared his enjoyment of the celebrations, highlighting the delicious food, dance, and camaraderie experienced. “Had an amazing time celebrating #Diwali last week. It was a joy to reconnect with dear friends, make new ones, and experience the warmth and spirit of this beautiful celebration,” he said, expressing gratitude to India for sharing its light.
The European Union mission to India also shared their wishes, stating, “Lights are twinkling, hearts are glowing. Team EU wishes you and your loved ones a joyful Diwali 2025 across India and around the world. May joy, peace, and hope brighten every corner.”
The Swiss Embassy celebrated the festival in New Delhi, posting a message that wished everyone a Happy Diwali, while emphasizing that the festival of lights brings warmth, happiness, and prosperity.
Similarly, the Austrian Embassy conveyed its greetings on X, with Ambassador Katharina Wieser expressing, “May the Festival of Lights bring joy, prosperity, and peace to your homes.”
Brazil’s Ambassador to India also took to X to share warm wishes, saying, “The whole team of the Embassy of Brazil in India extends its warmest wishes for a bright and joyful Diwali! May the lights of this festive season inspire harmony, compassion, and a renewed sense of unity, bringing peace and prosperity to our families.”
