Melissa Fleischut, President and CEO of the New York State Restaurant Association, hailed the legislation as a substantial win for the hospitality sector, aimed at reducing reservation competition and shielding restaurants from costly cancellations.

Despite these legislative efforts, the underlying issue persists: in the aftermath of the COVID pandemic, the demand for trendy and luxurious dining options continues to exceed supply. Travel advisor Jaclyn Sienna India noted that the trend is evident across industries, with hotels, flights, and restaurants fully booked.
