Din Tai Fung is set to make its debut in Arizona with a new location in Scottsdale, welcoming guests starting with reservations available on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at 9 a.m. ET. Known for its Michelin recognition, the Taiwanese restaurant is taking a phased approach to its opening, which will include a reservation-only soft opening, gradual service rollouts, and culminate in a grand opening celebration on April 20, 2026. The Scottsdale location is expected to create over 300 hospitality jobs, significantly impacting the local economy.

The phased rollout for Din Tai Fung in Scottsdale begins with a soft opening on March 12, 2026, where guests can enjoy the full menu by reservation only. Following that, the restaurant will begin accepting takeout orders on March 16, with online and in-person options available. Delivery services will commence on March 30, and walk-in seating along with phone-in takeout orders will be introduced on April 6. This carefully structured schedule allows the restaurant to scale operations effectively ahead of the anticipated grand opening.

Located in Scottsdale Fashion Square, the restaurant will span approximately 10,000 square feet and accommodate around 340 guests. Its design features a dumpling expo viewing kitchen and a full bar, creating an inviting atmosphere for diners. Din Tai Fung is famed for its Xiao Long Bao, or soup dumplings, which are made using a meticulous 18-fold technique and specific filling weights. The Scottsdale menu will include these beloved items and will also introduce a new steak dish upon its grand opening.

As the company ramps up hiring to fulfill its staffing needs, more than 300 jobs will be created in various roles, including servers, cooks, and bartenders, contributing to the local employment landscape. Additionally, plans are underway for another location at Chandler Fashion Center, set to open in 2027.

Looking ahead, the early indicators of success will include the speed at which reservations fill up following the February booking launch, the smooth execution of the soft opening, and timely introductions of takeout, delivery, and walk-in services. If these initial phases proceed without major disruptions, Din Tai Fung Scottsdale is poised for a successful transition to full service by the grand opening.
