Federal prosecutors allege that Sean “Diddy” Combs did not act independently in relation to crimes including bribery, threats, and sex trafficking. Authorities claim that Combs had significant assistance, leading to the potential prosecution of a network of his employees.
The indictment against Combs, which includes charges of sex trafficking and abusing women involved in his “freak-offs,” or sex parties, suggests that various employees, including security personnel, household staff, personal assistants, and senior supervisors, were used to facilitate these actions.
According to former federal prosecutor Manny Medrano, some employees may cooperate with the prosecution in exchange for reduced charges, while others could face criminal charges themselves. Medrano explains that the status of an employee as either a high or low-level enabler will determine their fate.
“Low-level enablers could be workers like housekeepers, while high-level enablers might be those who encouraged women to attend the parties,” Medrano noted.
The indictment further indicates that some employees assisted Combs by procuring drugs for the events, arranging travel for potential victims, and providing cash for sex workers.
There is speculation that other high-profile individuals may have also been present at these gatherings. U.S. Attorney Damian Williams, during a press conference, provided details regarding the charges against Combs, which include sex trafficking, arson, and racketeering. He also shared findings from property searches that led to the confiscation of videos of alleged abuse, military-style weapons, and over 1,000 bottles of personal lubricant.
Medrano suggested that Combs’ defense will likely assert that all individuals participated willingly. He affirmed, “The central question for the defense will be whether the women involved were doing so voluntarily and consensually or if they were coerced. If it is determined that they were coerced, Combs could face a lengthy prison sentence.”
