Sean “Diddy” Combs, the noted musician and producer, has been arrested, according to statements from his attorney. Combs was apprehended on Monday at the Park Hyatt Hotel in Manhattan, New York City, shortly after 8:15 p.m. by Homeland Security Investigations. The exact nature of the charges against him has not been disclosed.

Negotiations surrounding Combs’ surrender had reportedly been ongoing, with a sealed indictment being voted on the same day. Combs’ attorney, Marc Agnifilo, expressed disappointment over what he perceives as an unfair prosecution from the U.S. Attorney’s Office. He indicated that Combs had been cooperating with the investigation and had moved to New York in anticipation of the charges. Combs maintains his innocence, asserting he has “nothing to hide.”

Agnifilo described Combs as a music icon and a devoted philanthropist, emphasizing his commitment to uplifting the Black community over the past 30 years. He called for the public to refrain from premature judgment until all facts are presented, asserting that Combs is an innocent man.

On the same day, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, Damian Williams, confirmed the arrest based on a sealed indictment and indicated that the indictment is expected to be unsealed in the coming days.

The investigation into Combs, which has been ongoing since last year, involves allegations of sex trafficking, and authorities conducted searches of his properties in Los Angeles and Miami in March. Combs is facing multiple lawsuits, with several accusers alleging sexual assault.

Following the arrest, Tyrone Blackburn, an attorney representing some of the accusers, stated that it marks a significant step towards justice for his clients. He expressed confidence that more victims would come forward and referred to the evidence against Combs as clear.

This is an evolving story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
