Ranveer Singh’s latest film, Dhurandhar, has made an impressive entrance at the box office, surpassing the Rs 100-crore milestone within its first week. The film has garnered significant acclaim from both audiences and industry stalwarts, including actor Hrithik Roshan, who recently shared his thoughts on the film via Instagram.
In his review, Hrithik expressed his admiration for the film’s storytelling and its powerful cinematic language. He remarked, “I love cinema, I love people who climb into a vortex and let the story take control, spin them shake them until what they want to say is purged out of them onto that screen. DHURANDAR is an example of that. Loved the storytelling. It’s cinema.” While Hrithik connected deeply with the film’s execution, he mentioned a difference of opinion regarding its political themes. He stated, “I may disagree with the politics of it, and argue about the responsibilities us filmmakers should bear as citizens of the world. Nevertheless, can’t ignore how I loved and learnt from this one as a student of cinema. Amazing.”
Another significant voice in support of Dhurandhar is Akshay Kumar, who also praised the film. On social media platform X, he shared his reaction, saying, “Watched Dhurandhar and I’m blown away. What a gripping tale and you’ve simply nailed it @AdityaDharFilms. We need our stories to be told in a hard-hitting way and I’m so glad the audiences are giving the film all the love it deserves.” With multiple prominent figures expressing their approval, the film’s popularity continues to rise as it moves into its second week.
Dhurandhar revolves around the character Hamza Ali Mazari, played by Ranveer Singh, who stealthily embeds himself within the gang of Rehman Dakait, driven by a hidden agenda. The film also features notable actors such as Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, and Sara Arjun in key roles. Directed by Aditya Dhar and released on December 5, Dhurandhar has quickly emerged as one of the standout thrillers of the year, with a sequel anticipated to further explore Hamza’s journey and expand the narrative universe.
