Ilitch Sports + Entertainment has announced the launch of Detroit SportsNet (DSN), a dedicated broadcast and streaming platform for fans of the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Red Wings. This year-round service will provide local coverage of Tigers games starting this season, while Red Wings games will be included beginning with the 2026-27 season.
DSN will offer both traditional cable and satellite access throughout Michigan following the finalization of distribution agreements. For those in the local market, streaming subscriptions are available with two in-market plans: a monthly option at $19.99 and an annual plan at $189.99, providing a savings of over 20% for the year.
Fans who subscribe by March 22 can enjoy an introductory offer that allows free streaming of Tigers games, including the highly anticipated Opening Day matchup in San Diego, until April 1. Additionally, those opting for the annual subscription will secure access to the entire 2026 Tigers season and many games from the 2026-27 Red Wings season before their subscription renews on April 1, 2027.
Streaming for Tigers games will take place through the MLB App, which also features highlights, statistics, and league-wide news accessible via web, mobile, and connected TV platforms. Further details on how to access the streaming for Red Wings games will be shared this summer.
The launch of DSN comes on the heels of significant viewer engagement, with the Tigers experiencing record viewership numbers in the 2025 season. The team noted a substantial increase in average per-game streaming viewers, highlighting a 121% rise compared to previous seasons, securing their position among the top U.S.-based MLB teams for viewership.
Meanwhile, the Red Wings will continue their broadcasts on the FanDuel Sports Network through the end of the current season. Fans can rest assured that they do not need to make immediate changes. As they transition to DSN in the 2026-27 season, the Red Wings remain strong contenders in viewership, ranking fifth in household ratings among NHL teams, backed by their acclaimed broadcast team, which has garnered accolades for its excellence.
The establishment of Detroit SportsNet marks an exciting development for local sports fans, ensuring they have continuous access to their favorite teams and games for years to come.
